Hi to all.... I wanted to install mysql-server last night, but there is still a problem and I don't know where.
I installed mysql 3.23.xx, the latest beta- version, but I don't know, that it is a beta, and then I removed it from my potato, beacause it depends of debcnf from woody, which depends itself of libc6-2.1.94, which I don't wan't to have on my system. So I installed mysql-server last night with: "apt-get install mysql-client mysql-server" this is the message, what I got from apt: ---- billgotchy:/var/cache/apt/archives# apt-get install mysql-server Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Sorry, mysql-server is already the newest version 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded. 1 packages not fully installed or removed. Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 0B will be used. Setting up mysql-server (3.22.32-3) ... update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/mysql: file does not exist dpkg: error processing mysql-server (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: mysql-server E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) billgotchy:/var/cache/apt/archives# ---- But, there where no mysql- script in /etc/init.d, before I installed the beta and so I wondered about this message. How can I fix it..... do I have to create a mysql script in /etc/init.d, my someone tell my how?
