Hi, I always compile my own customized kernel. However, it brings one thing annoying when using apt-get dist-upgrade. As you can see as following it tries to install debian provided kernel instead.
Can I shut it off? thanks, ========================================================================== Preparing to replace kernel-image-2.2.17 Custom.1 (using .../kernel-image-2.2.17_1%3a2.2.17-1_i386.deb) ... You are attempting to install a kernel image (version 2.2.17) However, the directory /lib/modules/2.2.17 still exists. If you have deselected some modules, this could be bad. This is your last chance to abort the installation of this kernel image (nothing has been changed yet). I suggest you move /lib/modules/2.2.17 out of the way, perhaps to /lib/modules/2.2.17.old or something, and then try re-installing this image. Do you want to stop now?
