Hi,

a few days ago I asked for help regarding a problem I have with
modprobe. I haven't received any suggestions what I could do, neither
did I find anything on the net (search machines, archived mailing
lists) or in the documentation available and understandable (!) to
me.

So here I go again. Perhaps even if nobody here knows what to do,
somebody could give me a hint *where* I could get some help?

After upgrading from Corel Linux 1.1 to potato I have the following
new problem:

My network card module eepro100.o is, as it should be, in
/lib/modules/2.2.14/net. I can load it "by hand" with "insmod
/lib/modules/2.2.14/net/eepro100.o", but modprobe gives the error
message:

modprobe: can't locate module eepro100.o

I tried to put the line "path[net]=/lib/modules/`uname -r`/net"
into /etc/modutils/paths and ran update-modules - to no avail.

Any suggestion how to make modprobe find eepro100.o?

Thanks again in advance,

Andreas Goesele
