The Cathedral and the Bazaar is a pretty interesting read. It's available here: http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/writings/cathedral-bazaar/cathedral-bazaar/ Also, the book "Free For All" is informative (however, the author seems to repeat himself numerous time to fill the pages). Ironically, I don't believe if the text is available for free (it might be). The actually "open-source" licenses are fun to compare (gnu vs. the bsd's vs. mozilla vs. apple's etc). This too: http://www.opensource.org/osd.html And, of course, try searching on Richard Stallman. "The data wants to be free."
