First place to look: http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/ This page has the list of known good machines: http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/inst/install I don't know the numbering system you used, so I can't entirely tell whether your machine is on the list or not, but if it is not, I would suggest you give it a try, regardless. Yes, a pair of boot floppies, or a single CD, should work, if anything will.
