I use startx to bring up X and like you wondered whether a dpi setting in XF86Config is possible. The man page for XF86Config does not appear to have anything relevant but man startx mentions an xserverrc file. So after creating .xserverrc I put in it the line: exec X :0 -dpi 100 This worked for me so maybe it will also be of use when starting X via gdm. Brian. -- email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
