I am having a hell of a time getting my SB sound card working in Debian (2.2). I have tried loading it as a module and in the kernel, but to no avail. Modconf configures and installs the module without errors or conflicts, yet any audio application complains that there is no sound hardware available. If I cat a soundfile to /dev/dsp, I get distorted noise.
