You might be able to find the problem by taking a look at /var/lib/dpkg/info/kdebase.postrm (or even running this by hand).
I've had success in similar situations by removing /var/lib/dpkg/info/<pkgname>* and editing /var/lib/dpkg/info/status to show that package as: Status: purge ok not-installed It's messy but sometimes there isn't an easy way.
