Thank you! This works for me. Note that I also had to hack my /etc/init.d/gpm to look at the repeat_data variable, though it may be an old /etc/init.d/gpm. My gpm version is the latest with respect to "stable", "unstable" was down when I tried. I agree that this is the sort of thing that really should be fixed in the next version if it isn't already. Reasonable defaults is what life is all about. -chris
