This might be way off base however here goes:
If your cable modem doesn't filter traffic or block non-IP traffic.
I think it would be conceivable that anyone connected in your segment with a
Mac, could be trying to communicate via appletalk. I base this assumption on
the fact that In certain modes on my windoze box others have been able to
"see" my traffic.

        Just an idea.

                Subject: Non-IP traffic

                Greetings,
I've been using iptraf to try and diagnose a problem
I am having with my
cable modem, and I have noticed that on my Ethernet port, I
am getting some
Non-IP traffic to my NIC. Does anyone have any suggestions
on what tool to
use to see what the non-IP traffic is? Better yet, does
anyone have any
idea of what the NON-IP traffic might be?

                Thanks,

                Brooks
