I had this problem too - then, because of another Gnome-related glitch,
I decided to rename my ~/gnome directory. Afterwards I found Stormpkg
worked correctly and also displayed a message window telling me what it
was doing when it went on line - I didn't get this before with the new
version. I have since found quite a few Gnome things now work correctly.
