When I try to compile the kernel, I got the following errors (I > think when it's almost done): > > <SNIP> > kernel is compiling fine > </SNIP> > xdr.c: In function 'nlmsvc_decode_lockargs': > xdr.c:271: internal error--unrecognizable insn: > (jump_insn 1127 1123 1128 (return) -1 (nil) > (nil)) > gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 6 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Have you tried re-running the make after this error? If you did and it gets past that error and then fails somewhere else, you may have a hardware problem. For more info do a google search on 'Signal 11 while compiling the kernel'. I was getting signal 11 errors and after reading the FAQ I slowed down my AMD k2-200 to 166 and all is well. It may be that my memory is too slow and/or the CPU. For now, running at 166Mhz is working fine. The FAQ mentions similar errors with signal 4,6 & 7 and cures are listed.
