I tried it and it didn't solve the problem but that's not surprising when I tell you why. Realisation suddenly dawned! I had been editing my user copy of .fetchmailrc and although these had an effect if I ran Fetchmail from the command line it had no effect when Fetchmail was running as a demon because the demon is run as root! When I finally thought to look in root's .fetchmailrc I found that it included 'keep' from previous testing runs. How embarrasing. Sorry all. All is now working as it should. Barry Samuels
