I have been trying to get a working term setup to telnet into a SCO server. I have tried to use gnome-terminal and xterm with this same result. I am now running Woody with Helix-gnome
backspace sends a ^? delete changes the previous letter's case [a,A] arrow keys sent [A, [B, [C, [D I can use <ctrl><H> for backspace and it works. If I am just using it as an xterm it works fine. It only happens when I log into the SCO server with Debian. RedHat and Windows Telnet.exe work fine while logged into SCO. I am not sure of any other key stroke problems but these are the ones I use often. I also know that on RedHat 6.x and Helix-gnome this problem does not exist. I installed Potato and had this problem and upgraded to Woody and still have this same problem. Only possible thing I have noticed that seemed possibly odd is in the X server startup log there is a non-fatal error: System: `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp -w 1 -R/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb -xkm -m us_microsoft -em1 "The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:" -emp "> " -eml "Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server" keymap/xfree86 compiled/xfree86.xkm' Any clue on what this could be and how to fix it.
