I'm not sure how subscribing to this list helps you get a free ISP account going, unless all you need is the answer to finding the DNS nameserver addresses. If that's the case, the ISP should provide you with that information. Each ISP should have its own DNS nameservers. You might look on the ISP's web site under their "Setting Up" or "Support" pages. If you already know the DNS numbers and just need to know how to tell your Debian system what they are, /etc/resolv.con holds the DNS numbers if you're on a LAN. However, using dialup instead of being on a LAN, run pppconfig, which should ask you what the DNS numbers are, at which time you can enter them (separated by a space if you have more than one DNS number to enter, if I remember correctly). > I don't care who it's with > (excite, xoom, etc), as long as I can get it to work.
