I just found another HOWTO, not the long one, but a short one at: http://linuxhelp.net/guides/djg/printhowto.phtml This HOWTO states that printer support should be compiled as a module. Perhaps this is my problem, I did not have it as a module but in the kernel. I will try that and follow the other steps in this HOWTO and see if that helps. -- Andrew
