ahemm, LCP doesn´t even come up, the remote side isn´t sending you any packets at all. Authentication (PAP,CHAP,whatever) takes place _after_ LCP. Maybe the remote side is somewhat misconsigured or you need to send some black-magic packet(s) to start ppp on the remote end?
