This is definitely not a good book for covering installation-issues (as you pointed out). But if you are interested in becoming familiar with Linux/Unix and some GNU software (including networking and programming), then reading this book can be very useful. So it's really not adequate for plain debian "users". Other than that, I agree with this, especially since they have just released an updated version of the book (the O'Reilly version was announced - and I am sure they didn't leave out the www.linuxdoc.org-version ?). -- Felix Natter
