Switching groups is a real pain. I recommend that you just put your users into each group and let them stay there. Then they don't need to switch groups. Then look at using sgid directories for any shared work area. This is called User Private Groups and was popularized by Redhat. Debian is set up for this, almost. I definitely recommend using a UPG methodology. Bob
