I use DHCP for my cable modem, which should be relatively similar. 
To set it up involved the following steps:

        1)      apt-get install pump
        
        2)      pump 

That was it.  FYI, pump is the DHCP client written and GPLed by Red
Hat.  You could also try dhcpcd.
