try ulimit -u (not plural) just incase. that for sure sounds like a userland ulimit issue to me. But if you can confirm by including the output of ulimit -a to make sure its set to acceptable levels. *I* can't think of anything else that'd cause this on a lightly loaded machine(I've seen it without ulimits on a machine say under a syn flood attack or something) so if its not ulimits im 'fraid i cant offer any further advice :/ nate ----------------------------------------[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ]-- Vice President Network Operations http://www.firetrail.com/ Firetrail Internet Services Limited http://www.aphroland.org/ Everett, WA 425-348-7336 http://www.linuxpowered.net/ Powered By: http://comedy.aphroland.org/ Debian 2.1 Linux 2.0.36 SMP http://yahoo.aphroland.org/ -----------------------------------------[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ]-- 8:46pm up 188 days, 9:06, 1 user, load average: 1.25, 1.10, 1.09
