Here's what I got when I tried: HAL9000:/var/cache/apt/archives# dpkg -i libnspr3_M13-2_i386.deb (Reading database ... 73380 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace libnspr3 M12-1 (using libnspr3_M13-2_i386.deb) ... Unpacking replacement libnspr3 ... Setting up libnspr3 (M13-2) ... HAL9000:/var/cache/apt/archives# dpkg -i mozilla_M13-2_i386.deb (Reading database ... 73380 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace mozilla M13-2 (using mozilla_M13-2_i386.deb) ... Unpacking replacement mozilla ... dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of mozilla: mozilla depends on libnspr3 (= M13); however: Version of libnspr3 on system is M13-2. dpkg: error processing mozilla (--install): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Errors were encountered while processing: mozilla I guess that 13 != 13-2 The control file in the .deb has the depends entry of: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.1.2) <bunch snipped> libnspr3 (=M13) I'd guess that the last one there needs changed to libnspr3 (>=13) or maybe libnspr3 (=13-2) I'm really not sure which. I tried to go in using Midnight Commander and change that, but the change didn't get saved. I'm not yet familiar enough with the deb tools to unpack and repack a deb. -- Mike Werner KA8YSD | "Where do you want to go today?" ICQ# 12934898 | "As far from Redmond as possible!"
