if this situation is reached, try "route -n" and have a look at the defaultroute, which should read like 0.0.0.0 <ip of remote host> 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 ppp0 if there is none, try adding the line: defaultroute to the /etc/diald/diald.conf. If even this fails, you can manually reset the defaultroute in the /etc/ppp/ip-up and ip-down scripts. Read the "route" manpage for how to do it.
