I can't comment on the resources required, but I can say that I'd
seriously consider some of the other SCSI controllers out there. Don't
get me wrong, I have a 2940UW and haven't had any problems with it,
but Adaptec charges a premium for their products and have, in the
past, been slow to embrace Linux.

Do a search for the topic of SCSI controllers via http://www.deja.com
and look at what folks have to say. I've seen a lot of good things
said about the other SCSI controllers that are a lot less expensive
than Adaptec.

Good Luck,
Gary
