I can't get xwindows to work after a recent reinstall. "startx" file no longer exists, and I get numerous error messages. Also, I ended up with xfree86 3.3.6 instead of 3.3.5 Error messages include: "update menus: cannot remove lockfile /var/run/update-menus: pid" "Errors encountered while processing xterm dpkg --configure returned error exit status 1" There are also exit status 100 errors. The dpkg menu refers to broken downloads and installs. This is an Asus motherboard, AMD k6-2 400, voodoo3, 128mb ram. thanks for any help, steve w
