Ah, --no-applet does the trick. The transparency seems to be a deliberate new feature; I'll work out how to turn it off at some stage, because I find it distracting with my xplanet background, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Thanks, -- Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
