apt-get? There's a *.deb for it? Or does apt-get have a feature that will allow it to work with tarballs? Also, do you have the aforementioned dynamic libraries on your system, eg., libppm.so? On my potato system: # dpkg -S libppm netpbm-dev: /usr/man/man3/libppm.3.gz Perhaps simply linking libppm.so -> libnetpbm.so would do the trick? Gary
