at 3.1.8-7 is broken. See <http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=49739>. I was lucky enough to have the .deb for at 3.1.8-6 still in my apt archive, so I downgraded to that version and it started working again. Frank
