I have had similar problems which I thought were down to the fact I had enabled the GTK interface to debconf. Yesterday I changed back to a text interface with 'dpkg-reconfigure debconf', but I am still getting errors when I try and install packages like slrn and slrnpull, and today got this mail from my system: /etc/cron.daily/slrnpull: Use of uninitialized value at /usr/lib/perl5/5.005/Term/Cap.pm line 284. Use of uninitialized value at /usr/lib/perl5/5.005/Term/Cap.pm line 284. Use of uninitialized value at /usr/lib/perl5/5.005/Term/Cap.pm line 284. I have tried running 'dpkg-reconfigure debconf' again, but now it does nothing at all - no options, nothing. -- Phillip Deackes Debian Linux (Potato)
