So here's a good one...

How does one go about changing the install path of .debs? The intention is to:

-install gcc & friends on a partition that I can mount/umount when needed
-do a chroot for ftp/sendmail/http/dns

If I mangle the install path with dpkg, will I have to manually update these
packages, or will apt make the proper adjustments with instdir?

Does anyone have any experience with chroot on a debian box? Is it worth the
hassel?

TIA,
shadgun
