Maybe a permission problem ? I started adding a new user and group for soffice and installed under his permission. Afterwards just add the users you want to this group, verify that all permission are set correctly for the group (not only for the user) and thats it. Now you should get the normal install-screen from soffice. (Thats the way it worked for me). K.D. I choosed workstation install and some 1.7mb was copied into /root/office51 and then on it worked fine. So far so good. Now, I logged as myself (gnana) and tried to execute /opt/office/bin/setup (without /net option). I got this screen saying: Staroffice 5.1 is already installed in the following directory: /opt/office * modify * deinstall * repair these are the options that I was prompted when I expected workstation or local install screen! I am going nuts. please help. -gnana > about 2 megs > > --dave > > On Thu, 21 Oct 1999, T.V.Gnanasekaran wrote: > > > Hi, Thanks for the reply. > > > > > Yes, it has changed.
