Oh, don't worry at all about that.  Upgrading afterstep won't cause the
currently running afterstep process to die.  Next time you start
afterstep, though, the new one will be loaded...You probably should
restart soon after the upgrade, just to be sure that no problems arise,
but you should be just fine.
