It converts just fine using alien. I'm running X on a voodoo3 right now under slink, and the server seems quite stable and free of any major bugs. I had already installed the SVGA X server when I got the 3dfx server. The 3xfx server RPM will actually overwrite the XF86_SVGA file, which is kind of a pain, so don't be alarmed when you don't see an XF86_3DFX or something like that after installing.
