Did you install the alsa-source, libalsa0, and alsautils packages? Do you realize that the latest version of alsa (0.4.1) only supports kernel 2.2 and up (possibly some 2.1, but why use them?)? You didn't mention which version of alsa you're trying to use. Does the version you have include /proc/asound support, or is that only a feature of later versions? Did you properly build and install the alsa modules as detailed in the alsa documentation? - -- finger for PGP public key. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.3ia Charset: noconv iQCUAwUBN/PO+r7M/9WKZLW5AQEHOgP2Ozs+KnLoT8iSL/7Pw8rX76NzzRrKcTOC u1ER0ieiTc/JNT2MyIke+/ryiq+peHwf/tObWGZvKyqevlLjqQ08Shop+qJ7Tv+z N88R7/ualNLqQ0LsRdewqLNhvLV3DSh9wNuTEwwQeIzDIKv985k3XNY2gbTE9bZn jwNtjVnlSQ== =5D9d -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
