Hello,
I've a design question relying to the debian package format:
A .deb file is an ar-archive and some .tgz files in it. So far so
good. Why does debian take 2 utilities (tar and ar) with different file
formats to build a package?
(I don't want to change a thing here, I'm just interested in the
technical reasons behind this).
