Joaki I thought there was a hardware compatibility HOWTO but I can't find it. I did find a bunch of controllers that are supported in the 2.0.36 kernel (and following kernels.) Read these files in your kernel source: /usr/src/kernel/2.0.36/drivers/scsi/README* My experience with Adaptec cards is that they work well, but are more expensive than some other cards, and they are _quite_ sensitive to the quality of cables used. Poor cabes give scsi errors that mimic bad devices. If you buy the absolute best cables, external and internal, you will be fine. Some other controllers are said not to be so sensitive. I hope others will be able to advise you on other brands (most of which work well with Linux) and maybe tell us where the hardware compatibility howto. --David David Teague, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Debian GNU/Linux Because software support is free, timely, useful, technically accurate, and friendly. (I'm hoping this is all of the above!)
