What kernel are you upgrading from and to? You may need to use dhcpcd-sv
instead of the stock dhcpcd. An strace might be instructive.

After configuring and installing a new kernel, dhcpcd isn't
obtaining an IP address anymore; it fails silently, exiting
instantly after creating its process ID file.

Manually setting an address with ifconfig works.


Have I left out a necessary kernel option?
