No, ASCII is ASCII, no matter what platform you're on. The only difference is that on DOS/Windows, ASCII lines are terminated with 2 characters, the newline and carriage return. On Linux/Unix, only one of these is used. You can use the dos2unix program (from the sysutils package) to strip off the extra characters at the end of the lines. Are you certain the format of these files is something that Minivend knows how to handle? It might expect a totally different layout than what you're giving it in the text files. noah PGP public key available at http://lynx.dac.neu.edu/home/httpd/n/nmeyerha/mail.html or by 'finger -l [EMAIL PROTECTED]' -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 iQCVAwUBN8l1gIdCcpBjGWoFAQFJwQP/S0X+UQx6Xc75BNO9qNOpM2dTE4FDfKVx gC+GopxauBLbum+2eJlo/cmWnHJY6pOkzKUHmt6ivv7F4Ws8SCGc8jm1T0Fuajm8 v287a1tBAKAUePEFZU/JM8oH9Gxojzz878GN9y3qYD/FMKqlSyGyAF33TJbAJkzh 4PTd+77PEPs= =4q+E -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
