After installing a new version of gdm (1.0.0-9) I have a problem.
When it starts, I see the gray X root window and a mouse but nothing
more happens. A ps gives the following output:
276 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/gdm
283 ? S 0:01 \_ /usr/bin/X11/X -auth /var/state/gdm/authdir/:0.xauth :0
The /var/state/gdm/:0.log (why isn't it in /var/log ?) tells me:
AUDIT: Tue Aug 24 14:55:40 1999: 283 X: client 1 rejected from local host
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
Why ?
The following directory structure seems ok, too. The config file is the
one that was distributed.

Any suggestions ?
