To avoid possible confusion about the names mentioned above for a newcomer: There are two configuration programs called 'xf86config' and 'XF86Setup'. The first one is run from a console, the second one is GUI and assumes that the VGA server will work on your machine. X11's config file (the file created/modified by the above programs) is '/etc/X11/XF86Config'. -- Ed C.
