Is anyone using the ALSA package on an i386? I thought I'd try it out, but I can't get it to compile. I've already posted a bug report on it. I guess my real question is how good is sound from CS4236 and CS4610 cards? I currently get an annoying pop when first playing sounds -- a problem I'd like to remedy. --
