So too is my Toshiba 4000CDT. I've been using bzImage kernels (2.2.x) for several months with no problems at all. In fact, the occasional inexplicable hang which sometimes occurred for no apparent reason when I was using 2.0.x kernels, with zImage, no longer happens.
