modem line speed

Hi,
        How do I determine what modem line speed I currently have.

        I have 33.6k modem, but windoze reports 56700bps, I have tried to set 
with
        the string W2, and it still reports 56700bps. Hopefully, linux will 
give me
        a correct value.
