I have Debian on my Acer Aspire and it is working just great... I used to have a jaz drive hooked up to my Sun Sparc IPC which I used to run Linux off of the jaz drive... This was back in December and I had no problem with it. Now that I don't see a reason to use Solaris anymore since it's so slow I figured to just put Debian on the hard drive. I installed the base and I had two problems. Now I have installed Debian a lot of times in the past so I pretty much now if I'm doing something wrong. The first thing I noticed was when I installed the drivers floppy it had an error saying.... sed not found sed not found and so on. I had no clue what sed is but I know they was no drivers in the drivers section. I wasn't to worried about that since I don't have any unregular hardware. When I got to the ppp part of my set which I use Chap PPP to install. I have two phone lines so I have no problem with the 25 hours of downloading. But the problem is I can only stay connected to any ISP for no more then 2 min. I looked and looked to see if I had something set up wrong but could not find any. In those 2 min. I can ftp , telnet, ping, etc. just find. But the modem will still kick off in about 2 min. I have tried connected to different ISP but still it disconnects. My older version of Debian which I still have on my jaz disk that I can runs fine with PPP but it needs updated badly. I have my jaz drive hooked up to a different computer now so I need to know what is wrong with the PPPConfig, and what is this sed not found when I install my drv1400.bin.
