* [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | My sound has been working perfectly until a couple of days ago. My setup: | Soundblaster Live! with Creative's drivers, and kernel 2.2.10. | | I copied the sblive.o into the /lib/modules/2.2.10/misc directory, | loaded soundcore using modconf, and did a insmod -f sblive.o, and it | loaded fine. Now all I get is CD audio, and wav's and mp3's will | just play the 1st second and repeat that forever.
Hm. I had the same problem when I first got my Live! (admittedly Value) card. It turns out the problem was in the chipset of my motherboard, an AOpen card. The chipset was by Via, and they have released a small executable (which they of course make you run under Windows 95 or the likes) which fixed it completely (on the board, it seems it's not just a software hack). If you scour the SBLive! FAQs at www.sblive.com you should be able to find it (I had to download it from Taiwan, though, and that took a while). If you can't locate it, tell me and I'll try to dig it up from somewhere. -- Gravity brings me down.
