Yes. The Debian version is integrated into the Debian package management system, and has some features like X servers not being run with root permissions. The version in the current Debian release is somewhat older than the current XFree86 offering; if you need that version, you can find Debian X packages compiled for the current Debian release at http://netgod.net/x .
