!Newbie Alert!

According to the sources.list man page, "distribution can specify an exact
path, in which case the components must be omitted and distribution must
end with a slash".

I must not understand what this means. I've used Netscape to browse to the
"Packages.gz" file at
"ftp://ftp.us.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/1.1.1/distribution/deb/binary-i386/";,
(to verify the path) and have specified this in my sources.list file;
everything in the file is commented out except for this one line:

deb ftp://ftp.us.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/1.1.1/distribution/deb/binary-i386

but when I try to do an "apt-get update" I get the error that I have a
"Malformed line 8 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist)".

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
