I still use an old 486-based machine. It's set up for masquerading my
network  over a 28.8k dialup link, and just does masqerade, ssh, lynx (and
emacs for a single user)

Lessee... specs:
Cyrix 486dx2/80
16M memory
200M / and 400M /usr (running 2rcompr) and just under 50% used
ISA-only, ne* network card, 16650-UART serial for the modem
MAD16/Panasonic CDrom interface
Oh yeah, slink, kernel 2.0.36 with ipportfw and e2compr.
