Hi Suresh,

There are many reasons why audio-video may be out of sync. The problem seems to even
be related to quality of some files (most notorious in my
experience being AVIs.

try following workarounds:

mplayer -nobps <your_file>
mplayer -mc 0 <your_file>
mplayer -autosync <your_file> <--- haven't tried this yet, apparently works /quoted
in documentation/.

Also, maybe you have a slow computer, or alternatively your sound card does not cope
with required sound frequency.
You need to inspect report while the file is playing, and use resample audio filter.

Visit www.mplayerhq.hu for further info/workarounds.

Why your a/v is out of sync is actually a combination of your processor speed, sound
driver capabilities, quality of file being played, and perhaps
some other factor.

Take care,

Davor
