I used the BTS to "Find a bug report by reference number" for
bug #23141.

    I received this reply,

        No such bug number.

That bug was closed and expired or never existed, or the
mirror has not yet recorded that bug.

Here is what I believe is wrong with this reply,

    1) I should be told exactly why there is no such bug number.
A list of possible alternatives is not very helpful.

    2) I submitted bug #23141 in July, 1998, therefore, I assume
that the correct alternative is "That bug was closed and
expired".

        a) I never received any notification that the bug was
closed.

        b) Does expired mean all record of the bug has been
expunged from that BTS database? No bug should ever be expunged
from the data base. And I should be able to query an "expired"
bug.

Thanks,
